For nearly a decade, Light Bulb Web Design has helped businesses build an online presence that reflects who they are, what they stand for, and where they want to go.

Today, that journey enters a new chapter.

We're officially evolving from **Light Bulb Web Design** to simply **Light Bulb**.

At first glance, it might seem like a small change. After all, we're only removing two words from our name.

In reality, it's one of the most significant shifts we've made since the business was founded.

 **More Than a Name Change**

This isn't about following trends or refreshing a logo because the old one looked tired.

It's about aligning our brand with the business we've become.

Over the years, our role has expanded far beyond web design. While websites remain a vital part of what we do, they've become just one piece of a much bigger picture.

Today, our clients rely on us for:

- Strategic positioning
- Branding and brand development
- SEO and AI optimisation
- Conversion-focused copywriting
- User experience design
- Digital growth strategy
- Ongoing website support and refinement

When people heard "web design", they understandably saw us as a company that builds websites.

But that's no longer the full story.

We're not here simply to create websites.

We're here to help businesses create an online presence powerful enough to dominate their niche and build their own uncontested marketplace.

The words *Web Design* served us well, but they were starting to limit how people understood what we actually do.

**Returning to Our Roots with Light Bulb Local**

As part of this evolution, we're also introducing a second brand.

[Light Bulb Local](https://www.lightbulblocal.co.uk "Website design in Carlisle for small businesses")

This new division allows us to reconnect with where the business originally began: helping small local businesses establish themselves online.

Light Bulb Local is designed specifically for:

- Local tradespeople
- Independent retailers
- Professional service providers
- Start-ups and growing local businesses
- Community-focused organisations

Rather than trying to place everything under one umbrella, Light Bulb Local gives us the opportunity to serve those businesses with a dedicated brand, approach, and identity.

Meanwhile, Light Bulb will focus on businesses operating at:

- Regional level
- National level
- International level

Working alongside trusted specialists in SEO, AI optimisation, branding, copywriting and design, we'll continue delivering the bespoke, strategic support our clients know us for.

The distinction creates clarity, both for our clients and for the future direction of the business.

**A Brand That Reflects Who We Are**

A rebrand is easy to underestimate.

Most people see the final logo and assume the process was quick.

The reality couldn't be further from the truth.

The new identity was created by [Rebecca Watson](https://www.rebeccawatsondesign.co.uk/), whose ability to take ideas, values, ambitions and personality and turn them into a visual identity is genuinely extraordinary.

What appears simple on the surface is the result of extensive thought, research, refinement and strategic design.

She somehow managed to take what existed in my head and transform it into visuals that captured it perfectly.

The new logo represents several ideas that sit at the heart of Light Bulb:

- The support and guidance we provide to our clients
- The continuous nature of SEO and marketing
- The understanding that visibility must be earned and maintained
- Long-term growth rather than short-term wins
- Progress and evolution without losing our roots

Perhaps most importantly, it retains enough connection to our original identity that the brand still feels familiar.

Evolution, not revolution.

**Walking the Path We Ask Our Clients to Follow**

I had my original logo professionally designed in 2016.

Nearly ten years later, experiencing a full rebrand from the client side has been a powerful reminder of what we ask our own clients to invest in.

A brand isn't just a logo.

It's:

- Clarity
- Confidence
- Positioning
- Perception
- Differentiation
- Future growth

It's the difference between being known for a service and being recognised for a vision.

If we're encouraging businesses to think bigger, evolve and invest in their future, then it's only right that we do the same ourselves.

I've always believed that I should be willing to walk the path I ask clients to take.

This rebrand is part of that commitment.

 **This Is Only the Beginning**

Anyone who knows me knows that I rarely stand still.

Behind the scenes there's always something being built, improved, tested or developed.

The launch of Light Bulb Local and the Light Bulb rebrand are only the first visible steps in a much larger evolution.

What's coming next includes:

- Continued refinement of our service offering
- Expansion into wider UK and international markets
- Further development of our strategic methodologies
- New resources and opportunities for clients
- A stronger digital presence that fully reflects where Light Bulb is heading

There are exciting developments planned for October and beyond, and I can't wait to start sharing them.

Over the next few weeks you'll see updates appearing everywhere:

- Social profiles
- Online directories
- Partner websites
- Backlinks and citations
- Marketing materials
- Our own website

It's a sizeable task, but every transformation starts somewhere.

And for us, it starts where it always has.

With the website.

 **The Next Chapter**

Light Bulb has grown from a local web design business into something much bigger: a strategic creative partner helping businesses stand out in increasingly crowded markets.

The name is changing.

The look is evolving.

The vision is expanding.

But the mission remains exactly the same:

- Deliver personal support
- Create bespoke digital experiences
- Challenge conventional thinking
- Help our clients become impossible to ignore

Welcome to the next chapter of Light Bulb. 💡

**And trust me, this is only the beginning.**

Chris is the founder and lead strategist at Light Bulb Web Design, a UK‑based creative agency specialising in psychology‑driven, AI‑ready websites for professional service businesses. From law firms and financial practices to property and consultancy brands, he helps organisations turn underperforming websites into high‑trust, high‑converting digital assets.

With a background rooted in web design, technology, and human‑centred strategy, Chris writes about the real issues holding most websites back; unclear messaging, bloated builds, weak trust signals, and structures that search engines and AI simply can’t interpret. His work blends behavioural insight, technical precision, and a deep understanding of how people make decisions online.

Chris speaks at industry events, sharing practical, no‑nonsense guidance on AI‑aware optimisation, digital trust, and the future of web strategy. When he’s not building or refining websites, he’s exploring the intersection of technology, psychology, and business growth - and helping service‑based brands show up online with clarity, confidence, and credibility.
