Our third year and growing!

Our third year and growing!

I launched Light Bulb Web Design in April of 2014.  We passed our 2nd birthday a few months ago, and a few months later on, we celebrated taking the business full-time to make sure we could continue to grow and focus on our existing and new clients even more than we could before.

As Light Bulb Web Design in Carlisle continues to grow, we still hold to the same principles and beliefs as we did in the beginning - that professional website design should be appropriately and sensible priced, with excellent plain English communication and great ongoing support.

Spotlight on...Kathie Fursse from T5 for life

Kathie was one of our first e-commerce clients and was looking for an easy to use website selling her weight loss products.

Since launch, www.t5forlife.co.uk has amassed over 200 orders, and the number continues to grow weekly.  Kathie sent us the feedback below this week and I wanted to share it with my website visitors to show how effective and beneficial our website design services are to small businesses:

"I was recommended to contact Light Bulb Web Design as a new provider for my website as I was having problems with my previous website provider in that when I was asking for help and answers to questions about my website, I was not getting it.  I have never looked back since transferring my site to Chris; if I need help or a new product brochure added to my website it's done within the day and if I need any answers to a question on how my online shop works, they are answered.

The minute he moved my website over to his server he got to work with changing the website design and more crucially, he made it mobile friendly (responsive).  Chris then suggested I integrate my FM team training website and linked to my main website as this would make it a ‘one stop shop’ for customers and team members alike and it does, once you go on my website you don’t need to leave it and can access my YouTube channel, Podcasts, Blog and much more, all in once place.  At the start I was running my blog on another site and now that it’s merged onto my website I have found my sales and team members have increased dramatically as I can create content in one place and share my links with everyone and everywhere in the world!

Happy 1st Birthday!

Happy 1st Birthday!

So, here we are - tomorrow is April 6th 2015, and it will mark 12 months since we launched Light Bulb Web Design as a company!

It feels like time has flown by, and what a year it has been for us - whilst we knew there was a market out there for affordable, sensibly priced website design in the Carlisle and Cumbria area, we were not ready for the most amazing year of ever-growing business and interest.

How much does it cost to have a website designed?

How much does it cost to have a website designed?

With a mass of 'build your own website' packages available from a number of providers, you may be unsure if you still need to pay a professional to create your website design or if you can just do it themselves for little to nothing.  Unless you have the experience to structure your website effectively and create good search engine optimised content, the savings on cost are usually outweighed in how much time you will spend working on your own website instead of focusing on your own business.

How much does a website cost?

This is one the most commonly asked questions when people get in touch.  The price for your website design will depend on the size of your website and what features you need to have within it.  A small single-page website will normally be cheaper than a large e-commerce website due to the complexity of the work and the time involved to work with you on creating it.  If you have very specific design ideas then this may also impact on the price if these require additional work from ourselves to implement.
