And the scammers continue...
This is the 6th email address they've used now, using my Case Studies to visit client websites, harvest public email addresses, and try to pitch false services pretending to be me.
I've seen this exact issue affect other designers and agencies across the UK and one as far away from me as New Zealand - I can only assume this is an ongoing and possibly lucrative scam, as they can so easily target website owners pretending to be the exact designer or agency that person worked with for their website.
All seemingly very personal, names, photos and logos being used to add trust, and the end result if it works is to send people to a Shopify site to purchase a report or survey.
Shopify have so far been useless - you can't report a scam shop without having a Shopify account, and even then it's not easy to do.
Google are great - each new address I report is closed down within 24hrs.
However, new email addresses are easy to create, and the team behind this appear overly organised to be trying this approach so widespread.
Extremely annoying as each new email sent ends up with me from many clients who report it, as all know to look out and ignore any communication like this.
I've not had one sent like this for a few months now, and here we are again...
If you are a client, or anyone with a website who receives a similar email from their web designer or agency, please report it to them and mark it as Phishing in your own email software if possible.
